When are new programs launched?
Our pilot program, The Unity Radio Hour, launched August 1, 2007. The fall lineup of programming begins on November 26, 2007 with the official launch of the Unity.FM Network.

Following our launch in November, we will roll out new programs quarterly beginning in mid-January 2008.

To launch a new program, submit your application and allow at least two months for training and web integration of your program.

Why should I host a program?

There are many benefits to hosting a program on Unity.FM, including:

1. Leverage the power of the internet to fulfill your outreach goals and connect with an online congregation unlimited by time and distance.

2. Expand your ministry through internet "attendance" of your program. Your website will be highlighted during your live programs and in the archives, attracting a worldwide audience.

3.Access to technology. In addition to listening through computers, your program can also be accessed through other wireless applications such as iPods, mp3 players, cell phones and more!

4. Generate revenue for your ministry by partnering with us to secure underwriting and sponsors for your program.

5. The BEST reason to host a program? IT'S A WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

I'm new to online radio. What training will I receive?
All hosts are required to go through training to prepare for their first broadcast, and will be provide with ongoing support and feedback to ensure high-quality programming.

All programs require a 13-week commitment to consistent weekly live programming. Each weekly program will be archived for on-demand listening, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your archive will provide links to your existing ministry website.

You will work with an in-house Producer assigned to your program. Your one-hour weekly program will be scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time slot. A professionally produced promotional commercial will be provided (or you may provide your own) to be aired on the network. Your program may also be promoted in our e-program guide provided free to listeners through the unity.fm website.

All toll-free numbers for hosts, guests and listener call-ins will be provided by our main studio in California. The suggested window for launching a show is six to eight weeks from acceptance into the network.

What equipment will I need?
You can host a program on Unity.FM from anywhere in the world with just a phone line and an Instant Messenger account. Hosts partner with our main studio in California to produce live, interactive programming, complete with call-in capabilities and live online interactions.

A free Instant Messenger account (such as through Yahoo or MSN) is needed to stay in communication with your producer while your show is broadcasting live. This way, you can send and receive messages about callers, timing, special guests, and other important information.

You will call into the studio five minutes before your program begins for a sound check. A normal phone line is all you need (avoid cell phones and mobile lines), with a digital connection being the best (contact your telephone company for information).

You may want to invest in a hands-free headset (Plantroics headsets are recommended) so you will have greater mobility and improved sound quality as you broadcast.

How is funding provided?

Funding for unity.fm is provided by the tithes and love offerings of our listeners and the support of our underwriters.

If you are the leader of a Unity ministry, we invite you to prayerfully talk with your Board to determine the level to which you would like to support the unity.fm radio network. Your tithes or love offerings will constitute the underwriting for your program.

If you are not currently leading a Unity ministry but meet the other requirements for hosting a program, you or your sponsoring ministry may choose to provide underwriting for your program at the regular published rates.

What kinds of programs work best?

All programs airing live on Unity.FM are one-hour weekly broadcasts. The minimum commitment for a program series is 13 weeks.

Programs are accepted and scheduled based on the following:

1) Area of focus. Programs that serve a specific niche among Unity students. For example, topics such as Spiritual Parenting, Interpreting the Bible, Unity for Singles, etc. would be given preference over a more generic format.

2) Quality of Programming. Programs that align with the teachings of Unity and represent our teachings with quality and accuracy.

3) Possibility for outreach. Hosts who will help us spread the word about Unity. Preference will be given to those who have an established online outreach program and who will be proactive in helping us reach out to our online community worldwide.
