Costco Tax Policies Discussed on The Shop Cop on the VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network

Jennifer Litwin to address tax policies concerning Not-For-Profit customers on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel

PHOENIX - Modavox, Inc. (OTCBB:MDVX) - The Shop Cop, Jennifer Litwin, returns! Is Costco Friend or Foe to Charity? Volunteers of charitable organizations might want to reconsider shopping at Costco if they expect to not have to pay sales tax by merely using a tax-exempt letter from a charity along with an "individual" Costco membership card.

Costco makes it more difficult than many retailers for charitable volunteers to shop and save on sales tax! The majority of retailers selling goods to not-for-profit organizations accept a letter from the state Department of Revenue for the state the organization resides in, which includes the name and address of the organization, and the tax exemption identification number as proof that the not-for-profit organization can avoid paying sales tax.

Costco not only requires that a not-for-profit organization use a "business" membership club card, which costs an additional $50, but is also requiring not-for-profit organizations to hold the "business" membership card and credit card in order to get the state tax exemption. Not-for-profit organizations are complaining that they had no idea how difficult it would be to simply buy bulk supplies for fundraising at Costco prior to standing in the check-out lines.

Please join Jennifer Litwin, The Shop Cop, host of the popular and lively weekly radio show on May 14th 2009 where Jennifer will talk candidly about Costco's policies towards shopping state tax-free.

The Shop Cop airs live on Thursdays at 10 AM Pacific / 12 Noon Central / 1 PM Eastern on The VoiceAmerica Variety Channel. To access the show, log on at http://www.modavox.com/voiceamerica.
